The A&WMA Lake Michigan States Section and the Union League Club Environmental Committee are pleased to invite you to join us to hear from the Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability at the February 19, 2019 Environmental Breakfast.
Jessica Schumacher, Solid Waste Coordinator, will speak on the recently passed update to the Suburban Cook County Solid Waste Management Plan which was approved by the Board of Commissioners in July 2018. This plan addresses issues and opportunities in waste and recycling in suburban Cook County. The Plan also gives an overview of the types of waste that is generated in the County, where its coming from and where it’s going. Jessica will discuss the goals of the plan which helps set priorities to promote safe, practical, environmentally beneficial and economically sound solid waste management practices for suburban Cook County.
Deborah Stone, Chief Sustainability Officer, will provide an overview of current Cook County Sustainability efforts.
