The AWMA-LMS Board of Directors is made up of the chairman (the vice chairman automatically moves into the chairman role at the beginning of the program year), vice chairman, membership director, secretary, treasurer and eight (8) at large directors.  Board of Director terms run from January 1 to December 31.  Director terms are for two years, and Officer terms are for one year.  An election is held at the end of each calendar year to elect a new vice chair, three officers (membership, secretary, and treasurer) and four directors.

The dates, times, and locations of board meetings, which are subject to change, is provided on the Events Calendar.  For the latest info contact Robin Pelsis.

Board meetings are held once a month and are open to anyone who would like to attend.  Generally, the meetings are held in conjunction with our monthly breakfast speaker presentations held at the Union League Club of Chicago or virtually.  Meetings are typically held in late morning/noon time.

At the beginning of each calendar year a Program Planning Meeting is held.  The purpose of this meeting is to identify an initial line-up of events that the Section will host in the coming year.  The section hosts the Annual Air Conference, which is held in the spring and the Annual Waste Conference is held in the fall.  Additional topical meetings and events, including monthly breakfast meetings featuring one to two speakers and are held in the months preceding and proceeding the two annual conferences.  Special meetings and events may be hosted based on high priority topics that emerge.
